Great book for initial overview of petroleum refining and how the plant works. There are some sections that are a little more technical in terms of chemistry, but the math is simple, and the explanations are great.

Great book. The exercises in each chapter are very helpful to get you thinking.
Written in clear language. This is my go-to book when I want to introduce new engineers to the details of oil refineries. Each of the refinery unit descriptions are very informative - without having to be a petroleum engineer to understand them. Cat crackers, vacuum unit, reformers, cokers, hydrotreaters, SRUs, it has them all. Way to go Mr. Leffler!!!
